My current research is looking into the irradiation effects of Yttrium Hydride (YH). This will determine how YH can be used and its viability in reactor environments. This involves modeling YH systems and performing microscopy to determine the effects of radiation on YH. Some important considerations are temperature effects, hydrogen concentration and diffusion, and the mechanical properties both before and after irradiation. I am currently interested in both materials research and thermal hydraulics; Specifically, the materials related to nuclear reactors.
