Christian is a PhD candidate at the University of New Mexico in the Department of Nuclear Engineering. He is currently researching at Sandia National Laboratories in fusion radiation transport research using Monte Carlo methods. He enjoys learning about plasma physics and its applications in nuclear engineering for the development of fusion systems. For his dissertation, he is looking into the development of advanced fusion materials, such as tungsten borides for radiation shielding in high fusion neutron environments.
